Elegant Ballroom at Ellis Preserve Wedding

June wedding celebration in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania

BrightWorks photographed the beautiful union of this couple at the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve, a wedding venue just outside Philadelphia along the “Main Line” of the former Pennsylvania railroad. The bride prepared onsite with her bridesmaids, while the groom dressed with his dad and groomsmen at the nearby Radnor Hotel. The couple wrote one another cards and exchanged gifts during this time of anticipation.

As the late June day grew warmer, the couple’s first look took place in the shade and highlighted the stone masonry that is characteristic of the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve. Group photos progressed near the ceremony location, also cooled by the shade of large trees. The bride’s flower girls wore eucalyptus crowns and the arbor was festooned with white roses.

If you are looking for a historic and elegant venue for your wedding reception, check out the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve! Formerly a school for girls, this substantial Greek Revival building now offers a large reception space and in-house catering. This couple made great use of the options for lighting design, a spacious dance floor, and the capacity for a large number of guests. They also made the large space their own, outfitting the sweetheart table with thoughtful touches like challah bread, baby pictures, and comfy stuffed chairs. Those very same chairs were ultimately hoisted in the air, as the couple’s evening culminated in an energetic hora dance!
