Acadia National Park Elopement

Kaitlyn and Zackery’s Acadia Adventure

Step into this magical Acadia National Park elopement with Kaitlyn and Zack! We collaborated with them in the months leading up to their elopement date, sharing ideas, planning routes, and dreaming up a plan. These two are both in public service positions down in New Jersey and have been together for over ten years. They love Acadia and wanted to maximize the number of outlooks and views of the park!

To make sure we’d be as nimble as possible and still able to arrange a first look, Steve drove with Zack in his truck to the first look spot at Otter Point and Rebecca picked Kaitlyn up at the salon in Bar Harbor. When Kaitlyn and Rebecca arrived at the Otter Point parking lot, Zack was already out of sight and waiting on the rocks. Kaitlyn walked slowly toward him with all the drama of the rocks, ocean, and spectacular fall colors in the background.

After sharing the first look, Zack and Kaitlyn navigated the rocks at Otter Point and popped some champagne to celebrate the elopement. The couple’s effervescent smiles even outshone the wild spray of champagne! It felt like one of those unseasonably warm, special days. We called out a few posing ideas as they walked around soaking up the sun, but mostly documented them in the moment.

Next up on the elopement adventure, Jordan Pond! By sharing a car, we eliminated parking worries and Rebecca was able to drop everyone off at this popular spot. Steve photographed the couple out on the smooth round rocks with the Bubbles. We pulled off the road in a few spots for some impromptu photos and then made our way to the sunset ceremony spot.

Kaitlyn and Zack exchanged their vows during a picture postcard sunset ceremony on Cadillac Mountain. Kaitlyn had brought a sign, “We do, we did, we eloped!” and we photographed them holding it up while the sun dropped below the horizon. They relaxed together, and then as the moon rose in the eastern sky, we took a few end-of-night shots of this elopement to remember!
