Bright June Wedding at Linekin Bay Resort
Becca and Brad’s Midcoast Maine Wedding
The day of Becca and Brad’s wedding at Linekin Bay unfolded so beautifully. It was a quintessential June morning, very warm by Maine standards, and we followed a winding set of streets to reach the Linekin Bay Resort. The resort is made up of buildings with gray siding and is perched on a peninsula just east of Boothbay Harbor.
Prior to the wedding at Linekin Bay, we met Becca and Brad for their engagement shoot at Crescent Beach. We can’t believe that a year has flown by since those shots! The couple used a few of them for their Save-the-Date card, which we recognized when photographing the wedding layflat. As you read this, perhaps you’re asking, what exactly is a wedding layflat? It is a series of photos that artfully feature the invitation, rings, and other details related to the wedding. Becca’s wedding colors – pinks, oranges, and terracotta – were a perfect reflection of the warm summer morning.
After the preparing shots, the couple shared a first look on a small lawn as the breeze blew over Linekin Bay. Brad stood on the bluff as Becca approached. They passed a few minutes together while we photographed from afar and then we took cover from the sun under an old-fashioned porch roof with stone columns. Becca looked so beautiful with her bouquet from Eastern River Farm! The group photos brought us back out into the bright sun, followed by family photos in the shade.
The couple exchanged vows in front of their family, friends, and a few sailboats that bobbed approvingly in the distance on Linekin Bay. Their dogs attended, too! After newlywed photos out on the dock and cocktail hour candids, the couple made a joyful entrance into the Main Lodge for their reception. Brad’s dad read a Rumi poem and Becca’s dad bestowed a very important jersey on Brad. These toasts were so much fun to photograph!
We continued photographing as dancing began in the West Lodge. The Talking Heads came on for the first dance and everyone beamed at the couple as they moved to lyrics like, “Home, is where I want to be, But I guess I'm already there!” It’s sometimes challenging to beckon a couple away from the dance floor for sunset photos, but the softer light is so lovely and Becca and Brad ventured down to the docks for some of our final, favorite shots. All in all, an amazing, heartfelt celebration!
Congratulations, Becca & Brad!
