Steph and Rob's Maine Farmhouse Wedding
Steph and Rob’s classic Maine farmhouse wedding was a joy to photograph! When we first met this duo, their commitment to a Maine wedding ceremony location was clear -- they planned to head up to a historic Maine farmhouse on Mount Desert Island where Rob’s family spent time over the years. Their plan was to be married there in June 2020! When that wasn’t possible, Rob's dad married them in Cape Cod on their original June date. And one year later, they decided to celebrate with a Maine wedding at the farmhouse in a beautiful field dotted with purple lupine and lowbush blueberries!
A foggy, romantic scene greeted us when we reached the farmhouse for this quintessential Maine island wedding day. Rebecca photographed the rolling landscape and then worked with Rob to capture photos of his preparation. Steve headed to the Ivy Manor in Bar Harbor, Maine with videographer Gabe to meet up with Steph, her mom, and her bridesmaids. The bridal party picked up their bouquets just across the street at Queen Anne’s Flower Shop.
After a brief whirl of preparation, Steph and Rob shared their first look at the Asticou Azalea Garden near Southwest Harbor. The soft gray sky and rich greenery of the plants provided a beautiful backdrop for the couple to embrace and walk at their own pace through the garden. And they previewed some of their dance moves for us, complete with a twirl and dip! Steph's radiance even outshone her sparkly shoes!
The ceremony at the Sunset Farm and reception in the classic Maine barn were so personal and special. Gwen of Fiddleheads & Finery Event Planning helped make it a breeze to capture.
